What are you reading, my lord?

Words, words, words

William Shakespeare, Hamlet Act 2, Scene 2

When asked to describe its own creative writing, an LLM profoundly responded: “a string of words that statistically resemble what a thoughtful explanation would look like.”

We are writing more but it’s being read less. Not a problem, if it is a formal complaint letter or when we need just to get some information. After all, it will probably be just their chatbot responding to my request anyway.

What if it is an important letter and I need it to be read and understood in the spirit it is written? A letter to school about my child’s problems and struggles? A letter to your boss/HR explaining an incident at work? A cover letter for your job application?

I am offering 3*1,5h session in a small group (6 people)  where we will be practicing writing and analysing our writing with AI.

The session is highly practical and interactive.

Participants will write - using both digital tools and traditional pen and paper, prompt and analyse, edit and refine texts. They will use the AI assistant of their personal choice and will work on text or topics of their own personal or professional interest

We will

  • Analyse what makes writing human and the difference between text that reads as human vs. text that is “machine polished” but sterile/has no human touch.
  • Learn how to use AI as a writing assistant, not a replacement, by understanding division of labour and responsibility between humans and machines for producing effective texts.
  • Learn editorial skills and practice editing AI texts so that they sound human.
  • Identify how and when to use AI in the writing process effectively - leave with techniques for editing, prompting, and shaping AI writing.
  • Gain practical experience in refining and editing AI-generated texts to resonate with real audiences.
